Defenseman Adrian Aucoin, signed as a free agent in the off-season, is not surprised that the Coyotes have emerged as one of the surprise teams in the NHL with the first half of the season winding down.

He said he knew the caliber of players on the roster, and “I knew the potential was there.”
“You see it time and again, especially since the lockout, you have these teams that people don’t expect to play well,” he said. “You don’t need superstars; you just need everyone to play really well. You don’t need anybody to be great, but you need everybody to be good. So I don’t think it’s that surprising.”
Aucoin had five goals and 12 assists entering Saturday night’s game against the Los Angeles Kings”
