September 24th, 2009 · No Comments

Phil Kessel has been dominating the news for the past week or so.

It’s a comparison of Phil Kessel, Jonathan Toews and Jordan Schroeder – when they were rookie college players.
The comparisons were written part way through Jordan’s rookie season – December [...]

September 21st, 2009 · No Comments

“Dan Cloutier has had hip surgery twice in the past two years and was out of hockey last season,” wrote Ansar Khan of mlive.com
But the veteran goaltender isn’t prepared to retire before seeing if he still can play in the NHL. If he can’t, he likely will pursue opportunities in Europe.
For now, Cloutier is trying [...]

TED LEONSIS ON BUILDING A WINNING FRANCHISE

September 20th, 2009 · No Comments

by Ron Spence
I am quite fascinated with how General Managers are building teams in the 2009-10 NHL.
I read everything that I can on the topic.
A few months back we published some of Ken Holland’s comments in the blog: KEN HOLLAND EXPLAINS THE NEW WORLD ORDER.
Ted Leonsis, the owner of the Capitals, explains Washington’s philosophy on [...]

CLOUTIER TO EUROPE?

September 20th, 2009 · No Comments

“…Dan Cloutier, who’s in Red Wings training camp on a tryout, will play in an exhibition game, either Monday at the New York Rangers or Tuesday at Philadelphia, coach Mike Babcock said.
“He hasn’t played in a year, so we thought the best way to approach it is to get in camp (and practice) a little [...]
