DOUG WILSON WILL BE SHAKING AT THE DRAFT

Look for San Jose’s Doug Wilson to make some major trades at the draft.

Why?

Well the former Norris Trophy winner knows that his team needs some tinkering, plus a shaking up.

They were too good a team for their brief skirmish in the post-season.

The other reason for some big trades is that Doug only has four picks in the seven rounds during this draft.

San Jose traded their 2009 1st round pick – on July 4th, 2008 – along with Matt Carle, Ty Wishart, and a 4th round pick for Dan Boyle and Brad Lukowich (The pick was then traded to Ottawa and later to the New York Islanders.).

The Sharks will receive a second 2nd round pick, however. They traded Craig Rivet and a 7th round pick in 2010, for Buffalo’s 2nd round picks in both 2009 and 2010.

San Jose’s 3rd round pick was traded to Tampa Bay at last year’s draft for the Bolts’ 3rd round pick last season. San Jose also had to give up their 4th and 5th round picks last year as well.
San Jose’s 4th round pick was traded to the L.A. Kings for their 4th round draft selection last June, and a 5th round pick in 2010.
San Jose’s 6th round pick was traded to Columbus for Jody Shelley and will be used by the Atlanta Thrashers.
This means that San Jose has two 2nd round picks, a 5th round pick – 147th overall – and a 7th round pick – 207th overall – during the 7 rounds.
And the last reason for San Jose’s blockbuster trades tomorrow?
It’s Doug Wilson’s style.
He’s always on the move, making a deal.
