The Vancouver Canucks draft 22nd overall in the first round, and then 53rd, 83rd, 113rd, 143rd, and 173rd.
“The top 10 this year are very good and everyone will get a good player in the first round,” predicted Dan Marr, head scouting guy for the Atlanta Thrashers. “You put a rough list together prior to the combine and as you look at this year’s time and time again, it’s deeper than I first thought. Any team with extra second or third-round picks will get some fine prospects.”
Vancouver traded their 7th round pick to L.A. for Jason LaBarbera, but will receive Chicago 7th round pick for sending James Sharrow to the Blackhawks.
Vancouver are entitled to L.A.’s 3rd round pick for the Kings’ Dan Cloutier acquisition, but have to pay it to Buffalo for Steve Bernier.
