Lemieux has a reasonable chance of surpassing two other NHL records and is a longshot for a third.

Coming into the campaign, there was only one possible scenario where Guillaume Desbiens could envision himself scoring 20 goals.
“Obviously, it’s awesome to get there,” said Desbiens, who scored his 20th on Wednesday night as the Manitoba Moose earned a 5-3 victory over the Syracuse Crunch. “There’s no way at the [...]

You’ve heard it a zillion times: Age and treachery will always beat youth and talent.
A line that is oft repeated by those who must compete against youth…youth with all the attendant marvels that being young can offer. Like speed, energy and emerging talent. And that state of affairs best describes these youngblood Hawks.

Tommy Larscheid calls it “learning how to win.”

You had better pay attention to detail when you are playing the Blues from St. Lou. They have a great power play and an aggressive penalty kill. If we play loosey-goosey they will bury us tonight. And we’d better skate because the Blues are a very fast team.
And attention to detail really means keeping [...]

The Canucks are facing two back-to-back series over the next couple of weeks and they should be aware of one critical thing: Jason LaBarbera shouldn’t play against the Avalanche. He is 0-6 against Colorado in his career, and 0-4 against Peter Budaj.
We have tracked his wins and losses against some of the NHL’s [...]

I’m sure you’ve heard this expression before, but when we used to have little to report, we’d scour the news services for filler tidbits to pop into the newspaper. The expression was, of course, “a slow news day.”
And I have to figure that it must be a slow news day with all the [...]
