According to the Bangkok Post, Kazakhstan’s rout of Thailand was some sort of international record.
But, Thailand can take some consolation.
In 1924, Canada absolutely kicked two European teams.
Which countries were they?
Canada defeated Czechoslovakia 30-0 and Sweden by a 22-0 score.
Seventy years later, these teams are beating Canada at her own game.
At the past four [...]

Vancouver’s GM, Mike Gillis had been anointed for about five minutes when he stated:
“…I’d like to see grit, character….”
He then addressed his team’s needs on a couple of fronts. One was the acquisition of unrestricted free agent Dman Rob Davison.
The 6′3″, 220 pounder had been San Jose’s fourth round pick (98th overall), [...]

They were hoping it would be Bangrachan, but it seemed more like the Little Big Horn.
An unranked – by the International Ice Hockey Federation – Thai team took on Kazakhstan, seeded eleventh in the world.

I wouldn’t think so.
He’s been the third highest paid player in the NHL, since the 1990-91 season.

Neither Steve Yzerman, nor Sergei Fedorov, were awarded the Calder Trophy following their rookie seasons.
So, who won?
Ironically, they were both goalies. Although, they arrived at the NHL along different paths.
During the 1983-84 season, when Stevie Y was cutting his teeth, eighteen-year-old Buffalo netminder Tom Barrasso was literally “standing on his head.”
Straight out of [...]

Will Joe Sakic play another season for the Avalanche?
Will he retire?
(Does he have things to do in Denver?)
We know that he won’t sign to play anywhere else. That’s a given. Burnaby Joe’s loyalty is up there with Steve Yzerman’s.
And as Joe Sakic ponders what to do, I remember a feature which I wrote [...]
